Massage FAQ

What type of massage should I book?
You don’t need to know exactly which technique you need. Choose the session length that feels right, and we’ll tailor the massage around what your body needs that day.

Is Deep Tissue Massage supposed to hurt?
Deep Tissue work can feel intense, but I don’t use a “no pain, no gain” approach. I ease into the tissue gradually, warm the area first, and check in with you as we go. When pressure is too intense, the body may tighten or guard the area, so I adjust the work to help the muscles soften rather than fight the treatment.

Can stretching, cupping, or Gua Sha be included?
Yes. Assisted stretching, MediCupping, Gua Sha, and other techniques may be incorporated when they’re appropriate for your goals and the area being treated.

Do you offer mobile or in-home massage?
No. Sessions are provided in my Brentwood treatment room, where I have the equipment and setup needed to provide personalized therapeutic bodywork.

What should I wear or expect for my first massage?
You’ll have privacy to undress to your comfort level, and professional draping is used throughout the session. We’ll also take a few minutes before your massage to talk about what’s bothering you and what you’d like to focus on.
